2020 Vision Board Party

2020 seems to be the “it” year everyone Is talking about and I’m getting that same 2020 euphoria feeling too. 2019 was filled with a lot of highs (and was much better than my 2018), but most people I know went through a lot of growing pains this last year. Growing pains are really hard to deal with at the moment but are the only way to get you to that next great step in life. Most people my age are dealing with a lot of growing pains, especially as we grow up and our jobs are changing, relationships, how we deal with obstacles, and every aspect of life is becoming much different. So the 2020 Vision Board Party my friend hosted could not have been more fitting for our lives right now and for the 2020 year ahead.

If you’re in need of a vision board party, you will first need plenty of magazines and a variety of them to make sure you can get all of our inspiration and ideas for what 2020 is going to look like. We had everything from Cosmo, Seventeen Magazine, Vogue, J-14 to AARP and Costco magazines. The only other items you will absolutely need are scissors, poster board, and glue. But some other things that made our vision board party even better is some basic Taylor Swift music to get us motivated, a little junk food, and sitting on the floor spread out like a 2002 ‘girls only’ sleepover.

Most of our boards had the basic NYE resolutions like eating healthier, exercising more, finding love, travel more, etc. but all of us focused more on the vibe or mentality that we want to have in 2020 and this idea of being “up here”. When talking about being “up here”, it initially comes off as pretentious/boujee like wanting to fly a helicopter to the airport rather than a taxi, but it’s really about doing the little things that are going to get us to that next level and be our best selves whether it’s taking that fancy workout class to actually get you in shape, spending money on quality products and investments, or simply focusing on relationships that will support you into getting to that next level ‘you’. I think the main difference between vision boards we may have done a few years ago vs. our 2020 vision boards is that we we weren’t just slapping on pictures of our goals because those are just dreams; we were posting HOW we were going to EXECUTE these dreams by making a plan to bring it to life. The whole point of having a vision board party is to really put everything out there in front of you and everyone at the party to physical see and envision, and to put it out into the world to make it come into existence. The crazier part for me is that this mentality of how I’m going to accomplish my goals has already got me making big moves to get to this greater life in 2020 that everyone keeps talking about. So go make it happen!

Happy Holidays!
