CBD: Does it even work?

It’s 2020 and we are still waiting on finding that fountain of youth. Every skincare company is trying to give you their product to try and help with aging but no skincare product alone is going to “cure” aging. But there are still many ways to help slow down the aging process. Here is the ESSNTLS take on what we can do to help reverse the aging clock and get you flawless ageless skin.

Botox: I have to start with this one because it really scares some people away. This procedure or injection has been given a bad reputation in society, but it is well studied and we know the long term effects are not harmful. But what bothers me with society on this issue is that there is no difference in caking on makeup everyday to hide your wrinkles versus just getting botox done besides having to do makeup everyday. Anyways, botox can still be tricky and you want to make sure that you have the right doctor as some areas near the site of injection may start to compensate for the “freezing” of the muscle creating the wrinkles. I want to stress to young people how great “baby botox” is because it prevents us from using these muscles that create these wrinkles. When you are already full wrinkled face, botox/freezing the muscle, will not be enough to get rid of the deep wrinkles. And then you have to add fillers to the mix...

Fillers: Getting fillers is even a more frowned upon procedure by society because most people think they are going crazy and trying to completely transform their face to look different. Which you can do that with fillers, but there are so many different types of fillers that can give you a fresh and healthy natural look. Fillers are typically just hyaluronic acid which is another anti-aging skincare product savior. If you are able to start fillers at the start of aging (23-28 years old), it will prevent your skin from aging more than what it would have and will be less of a reversing process.

SPF/Avoid Sun: I am a total sun worshiper so I have a hard time talking about this one because I’m not fully practicing what I’m preaching here. But there is a lot of research & documentation on how the sun is the biggest contributor to aging...besides our DNA makeup that decides our aging process. The sun is the biggest contributor to oxidation of the which causes aging meaning we need to overall should avoid large amounts of sun and always wear SPF to help prevent it.

Consistent daily and nightly skincare routine: I have to say I have seen this anti-aging technique work its magic from my grandma. She has been the most consistent with all of her skincare and she is the best looking grandma out there! If you can be consistent with washing your face and moisturizing everyday, you’re going to save yourself from years of aging. **It also makes a big difference when you are using products that are formulated to actually be good for your skin. ESSNTLS Lab products are all formulated to be healthy and clean for your skin and will make sure to help reverse the aging process.

Vitamin A, Vitamin E, Hyaluronic Acid, and Niacinamide: These 4 ingredients are anti-aging powerhouses. Definitely make sure that these are in your skincare routine but also make sure you add these to supplements or try to make sure your foods have these vitamins which is the best way to absorb nutrients.

Exfoliating: I left this one for last because I wouldn’t say it’s the most important but make sure you get off the dead skin to prevent oxidation build up and thus help with aging. But as I have mentioned before in other blogs, it’s important to exfoliate your face with only chemical exfoliation. Physical exfoliants are extremely abrasive and can create scarring and then create aging rather than helping your skin.
