      Who It’s For: Aestheticians, cosmetologists, skincare professionals, and science students
      Prerequisite: No prior cosmetic chemistry experience required

  • What You’ll Learn:

    • The science behind skin hydration and barrier support

    • Functions and differences between humectants, occlusives, and emollients

    • How to select and layer moisturizing ingredients for different skin types

    • Fundamentals of emulsion technology (W/O vs. O/W emulsions)

    • Introduction to active ingredients: how they work, when to use them, and how to stabilize them

    • Overview of ingredient compatibility and formulation safety

    • In-person only: hands-on lab to formulate a moisturizer with actives, including pH testing and stability basics

    Prerequisite:

    • Completion of Intro to Cosmetic Chemistry is required

    • Applicants with equivalent experience may request a prerequisite waiver
