Prerequisite: No prior cosmetic chemistry experience required

What You’ll Learn:
The science behind skin hydration and barrier support
Functions and differences between humectants, occlusives, and emollients
How to select and layer moisturizing ingredients for different skin types
Fundamentals of emulsion technology (W/O vs. O/W emulsions)
Introduction to active ingredients: how they work, when to use them, and how to stabilize them
Overview of ingredient compatibility and formulation safety
In-person only: hands-on lab to formulate a moisturizer with actives, including pH testing and stability basics
Prerequisite:
Completion of Intro to Cosmetic Chemistry is required
Applicants with equivalent experience may request a prerequisite waiver
